A colony of 50 houses was under construction at Poompuhar in Tamilnadu, a village that was severely damaged by Tsunami. Due to little co-operation from Government the project has been decelerated. But, HH Sri Swamiji pursued it and later, the project was started to the extent to meet the full contributions received for the purpose. About 50 good houses are being built. In the middle, due to heavy rains, the house construction work was delayed. The work resumed again under the supervision of Sriman Madhavan Swami along with JET / VT supporters. On and off the heavy rains are causing hindrance, however our service volunteers are persevering to finish the project at the earliest in its best form to the best value of the contributions received. On field it is observed that though many promised houses etc., to the victims, not many are utilising the contributions for the promise made. Project by JET is one among very few that commenced real work ! A School for Tribals for the benefit of fishermen families along the sea coast, is being constructed at Kataripalem near Chirala, Andhra Pradesh. On 21st Nov 05 HH Sri Swamiji visited Kataripalem, a fishermen village near Chirala where HH Sri Swamiji is setting up a School to educate those backward
children. The school construction project is being supported by devotees and by IDRF USA through Githa Devina from Houston. Smt. Githa also came to
visit the school work and take the blessings of HH Sri Swamiji. HH addressed the children and parents of the village and said that the school
construction will be finished soon and is likely to start from the next academic year. HH offered Mangalasasanams to all those involved in supporting the
school project. The School celebrated its 1st anniversary last month (May 2007). The support for regular maintenance and free education along with afternoon meals can be a good service to take part. A MATHSYA NARAYANA TEMPLE IN FISHERMEN VILLAGE HH planned to construct a big Mandapam (a
hall) also in front of the temple for many of their devotional and social activities. Fishermen invited HH Sri Swamiji with a thrilling kolatam dance
