With the holy blessings of H.H. Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji the Vizianagaram Vikasatarangini took the responsibility of administering a school for Visually Handicapped. Braille Institute for Education of visually handicapped handed over its responsibility to H.H. Sri Jeeyar Swamiji.

Under His guidance the Vikasatarangini took the responsibility of the blind school on 25-7-2001. The recognition by the government was completed on 31-5-2001. HH Sri Swamiji handed over the responsibility of maintaining the school to JET. Accordingly the management is conducting the classes from 1st to 5th. Now extended to 10th Class. There are 108 Visually Handicapped students as of today.

On the morning of 24-8-2001, Friday, H.H Sri Swamiji visited the blind school and named it as Nethra Vidyalaya and gave His Mangalasasanams to the children and staff. H.H. appealed to one and all to take part how much ever they can, in providing facilities and in giving education to those children and develop the blind school.

Students are provided with Computers with Specialised Braille Software and other Braille Equipment. A Braille Printer is also provided to the Students. Staff of the school are serving with full dedication for educating those Blind children, putting every effort they can.

Running at Vizianagaram, Andhra, with 108 poor blind students, standing always first in regular studies and also in cultural events & sports at State level competitions. Education, boarding and clothing are free to all. Students are trained on Computers equipped with Braille packages & a Braille printer. A dedicated team of staff are on the job. YOU CAN JOIN IN SUPPORTING THEM!

This institute will be under JET and all the donations to this institute will be given income tax exemption. Those people who give the amount more than 10,000/- will be considered as the sponsors.

H.H Sri Swamiji suggested that one can take the responsibility of a student by paying Rs. 1500/- for one month and also one can sponsor Rs.1000 for one day feeding to all the students. One can also contribute their donation to their heart, for general maintenance and for specialised equipment required for the blind students.

First time in Andhra Pradesh, a Junior College for visually challenged is opening in Kukatpally, Hyderabad in this 2007 academic year! JET is actively working with the local committee and a number of philanthropists are coming forward for this noble cause.
