What for is Gita Jyothi     Part - 1     Part - 2

Githa Jyothi
is a Global Peace  programme devised with the goal of revitalising and boosting the  allround improvement in the standards of human thought.
In the name of religion, caste, political party, group etc., many of the so called leaders are splitting people, to enjoy  their  own  selfish ends.  Population  of a country is being pierced into pieces.  Human race came into existence with ' co-existence ' as its base of living.  But, today, the human race is in such a condition as to search for  the traces of its basic principles of living.  Thousands of years ago, a great sage by name "Yaska" gave the definition for "Manushya" ie., human being as "mathwa: karma:ni si:vyathi ithi manushyaha ".    He should recognise happenings around him, think about them and do such necessary things which make all the living beings to constitute a happy society where they live together in harmony.  Torn pieces of cloth, when orderly arranged and knit together, result in a wonderful dress.  Similarly, a Manushya is the one who, with his benevolent behaviour brings together the dividing pieces of the society and makes it live like a single family.
It is with his wonderful behavioural deeds, Sri Rama was able to bring human beings, animals, cannibals, demons, angels, birds all onto a single path !  With his loving nature won the Love from all of them.  Sri Rama represents an ideal human being.  He sets an example to the whole humanity.  Sri Ramayanam says the Lord Sri Rama lived on this Earth for 11000 years showing how to behave and do things.
The essence of all that a Man has to know, as shown by practice in Rama's incarnation, has been presented theoretically during Sri Krishna's incarnation.  The goal of incarnating as Lord Krishna itself is to teach Srimad Bhagavadgitha for the benefit of the humanity.  He didn't teach any theory as such during Rama's incarnation except exemplifying through practice.
If one wants to elevate himself in all the faculties of his life then, irrespective of any region or caste or group to which he may belong, either by following an example who lead such life or by knowing that they lead such a wonderful life, then he must  follow Sri Rama's path.  It is compulsory to adopt Sri Rama's  way and method of practice.  But, we should know that, whatever he did, to them, 1) We should know the correct interpretation from elders, to why he took such a decision as, many of the latent reasons are not apparent.  2)  Some of the deeds are very difficult to understand    3) Some of them appear to be against the rule.
Sending his pregnant wife Sitha to forests is the example to the first instance.  Great Bharatha, the brother of Sri Rama taking the sword against his own mother to kill her,  Lakshmana  refusing to recognise his father Dasarattha as father.. are the examples for the second instance.  Whereas, Sri Rama speaking lies with Sugriva  and and his attempt to make minister Sumanthra to speak lies with the King etc., appear too against.
However there is a purposeful and meaningful reason behind everything.  If we start looking at them and start copying them exactly and blindly then again we will be in a fix, so to explain the reasons behind them, Lord took the incarnation of Sri Krishna.
During  the incarnation as Lord Krishna, His practice is not what we have to observe, but, His Mysterious Teachings.  As His mission is to teach many things during this incarnation, he taught many things whenever he found any opportunity to do so.
From the time Lord Krishna  was born in Jail, while growing in the Village of Vre:palle, While playing bureaucratic politics against others in his association with the rulers etc., whenever he found some opportunity, He preached many great things.  For them to believe Him, he even showed his actual Gigantic Cosmic Universal Form (Viswa Ru:pam)  every now and then.  He did all whatever is necessary to make them listen to His preachings.  He never thought that how good are such attempts, or howmuch bad name do they fetch to Him.
Aren't parents taking everypain and risk to put their children on the right path?  If those with one or two children are taking so much of risk then, the one to whom all the worlds are His own, is there any question in doing  so many things as according to the situation that arises ?  He wants His children to be happy !  They should get good name and fame.  That's all what He wants.  Whatever others might think of Him or, whatever dirt others try to throw on him, he wanted to bear them all silently.
These days everybody says that " Don't see what parents are doing to earn money !  But, are they looking after their children well ".  Similarly, don't see what Lord Krishna did during the Incarnation, but, see what message he gave to the whole humanity.  Though there is a valid reason that everybody will accept regarding what all  He did, they are not apparent to ordinary eyes and thought unless properly known from the right route.  Try to understand  and  do what ever he said.  To ordinary mortals, many of the deeds of Lord Krishna appear as faults.  But, there is a profound reason behind every deed, a great philosophical purpose behind every instance, a great Universal Truth behind.   So, actually speaking, there is no fault in any of His deeds, though they appear so. It needs intellectual depth and experience of Truth to realise many facts.
Whatever  it may be, for practice,  Sri Rama is an example, for Truth in theory it is Lord Krishna's message.  One who can equivocate them both and put them in practice, then, the birth as human being becomes wholesome and complete.
Practice without proper knowledge is likely to mislead like a blind showing the road.   Knowledge that doesn't contribute to practice is like a lame and  leads to pseudo philosophic discussions and finally downfall. But, if knowledge and practice both cohere in one's life, then the life of a man fills with  Love and affection from everyone,  who would bring the whole of our society into the unique path of Divine Service and have the opportunity of enjoying the Ultimate in one's life.
By the time of Lord Krishna's incarnation itself, the human society has degraded to the level of ignoring the words of God.  Still, He Loved everyone as His own.  So he recollected some of the messages he preached  earlier to one here and one there, regularised them and prepared the ground for Mahabha:ratha War, encouraging Arjuna.
Keeping Arjuna as an instrument, he revealed, out of Compassion,  the whole Bhagavadgitha to this World,  for one and all to realize the truth.
Howmuch of this preaching is useful to Arjuna is however, doubtful.  A farmer enjoys the milk by invoking the Cow to produce milk  for the sake of it's calf.  So also, the essence of all the Vedas has been generously presented wonderfully to the whole of Humanity, keeping Arjuna  as  the nominal  instrument.  If we can use Bhagavadgitha with true belief in it,  then, it is the greatest of the scriptures that can mould a Man into an Ideal Man.
Usually many people say that like Bible for Christians, like Quran for Muslims and like Granthsaheb for some others, the holy scripture of Hindus is Bhagavadgitha.  This shows their immatured understanding ability of the truths.
All the above said religions are born within recent two to three thousand years.  Before that there is no existence for them on this Earth.
Dividing the society in the name of religions, conversions, suppression, attacking and destroying other cultures and traditions, taking the weakness of  poverty and using those poor people  for their selfish ends in the name of religion etc., are all
produces that began during these recent  two to three thousand years.  What is there before that ?   Doesn't  Man know how to live and wear clothes, eat cooked food etc., before that?  What is there before that ?  Sri Ramayana says that there is lakhs of years of history to this Mankind.  Then, the epic of Mahabharatha also asserted the same followed by SrimadBha:gavatham.  Great Sages, Va:lmi:ki, Bhagavan Veda Vyasa have composed the human history that came unto their period  as-it-is in the form of  scriptures Ramayana and Mahabharatha.  Sri Ramayana and Mahabharatha are the Histories of Human Race on this Earth This Bhagavadgitha belongs to  Mahabharatha.
                "swamswam charithram sikshe:ran prutthivya:m sarvama:nava:ha "
Sri Veda Vyasa Bhagavan has taken a pledge, an oath that,  " This Sriman Maha:Bha:ratham is being presented such that  whoever is born on this Earth can rectify their lives and their practices, with the help of this scripture and build a harmonious human society where everyone can live  happily with all others".
So, calling Sri Ramayanam, Bha:ratham, Bha:gavatham, Bhagavadgitha as Hindu Scriptures is not right.   Calling some people as Hindus was also started during the recent 800 to 900 years and before that there is no such name at all.  To the whole of Humanity, these scriptures are like guiding lights, they are the Divine Torches, the Holy Scriptures.  They teach us wonderful things that can make our life happy and joyful.
If some of the underlying meanings can be digested by us, we can also inculcate our  behaviour  in the way an Ideal Man has to and live upto it. We can also become Great Human-Beings !   We can also knit the torn  pieces of the human society into a single cloth, adorn it and glorify the humanity.   Githa Jyothi is a programme with this as its aim.

There are five important points that need careful attention-

1.  Our thoughts and attitudes need to be greatly reformed..
2.  Ignorance, Negligence  and Passiveness should be eliminated from us and brevity in mind and self-confidence are to be    drastically improved.
3.  Should have a  Divine Message with us to share when we mix with our own relatives, friends, mates,  neighbours, and others.
4.  Should construct a society that can keep the ' Spiritual Enlightening ' always on-line, in our local areas and regions.
5.  Should be able to do atleast some of the necessary service activities in our local areas.
