Its a historic fact that Bhagavad Ramanujacharya during 11th century, glorified the Vedic tradition of Visishtadwaitha through Sanskrit Vedantha and that of Divya Prabandhas of Alwars, highly adored and acclaimed all over the world. With his profundity of subject, analytical logic and authentic proof he won over all, those following different philosophies, who accepted SriVaishnavism with great adoration and propagated it in different ways, through different schools, later on. Bhagavad Ramanujacharya illumined the world, the relationship of all other philosophies to the Universal concepts taught by Vedas. He for the first time revealed secret manthra to all the seekers irrespective of gender, caste, creed or sect.
Belonging to the same traditional lineage, HH Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji rejuvenated the same, in this millenia, all the masses througout the length and breadth of Bharat and also Nepal. He was accompanied by a highly accomplished scholar of top order, “Nyaya Vedantha Vidwan” U.Ve. Sriman T.K. Gopalacharya Swami who inspired and trained a number of scholars throughout India and Nepal. HH along with Sri Gopalacharya Swami established the Ubhaya Vedanthacharya Peetam at Srirangam during 1950s.

Sri Gopalacharya Swami proved his power of wisdom with his invaluable authentic works numbering more than 60, highly valued by great scholars all over the country. He imparted knowledge to many a scholar in these two countries and he is the Guru for more than 10 Jeeyar Swamijis and several great scholars of high reputation and rank. Thus, he gained a unique place among the Ubhaya Vedanthacharyas. In the divine memory of Sriman Gopalacharya Swami, Ubhaya Vedanthacharya Peetam is honouring dedicated scholars every year with the prestigious award of “Gopalopayanam” on the day of his birth star (Jyeshtta in the month of Pushya). This year the prestigious Gopalopayanam award is being conferred on U.Ve.Sriman S. Krishna Swamy Iyengar, a great scholar in this Vedic Tradition, propagating Ubhaya Vedanthas in a most authentic manner with great dedication and devotion.
