Sri Swamiji's Message
Prayer
"Swasthi Prajabhyah paripalayan tham, Nyayyena margena Mahim Mahishah !
gOobrahmanebhyas Subhamasthu nithyam, Lokas samasthas sukhino bhavanthu!!"
Dear Devotees,
The power of prayer is universally accepted by all religions and cults. Prayer helps in achieving not only personal benefits, cultural purposes and mental peace, it also helps for the social good. Nothing is equal to prayer in protecting the well being of an individual as well as the society.
Inspite of the varied differences of language, methods of prayer, and the form of God, for whom these prayers are offered, everybody wishes the same, the mercy from the cool heart of God, who readily responds to these prayers.
Even though a human being may neglect prayer or forget it in his happy moments, it is his natural instinct to resort ot prayer in times of distress and difficulties. God has vowed to protect "irrespective of the occasion, whenever an individual offers prayer to Him, He will be ready to rescue him." It is in the Upanishads that "It is good to see the Lord in every human being, the entire society as His divine body and thereby living with Love towards all", and God loves them, who practice it.
Therefore, these preayers, which are not just aimed at individual benefits, but the well being of the entire society also for whoever is dearer to God. In addition to this, prayers offered by a large group of devotees are found to be more efficacious than those offered by individuals.
A solo prayer by a single person in the evening hours of an Ekadasi day is itself, very powerful one. What to say about that prayer which is done by large number of devotees. Now the occasion has come to pray the Lord for creating a powerful influence on the society, especially on the entire humanity. That is the prime reason for this invitation.
A number of ill practices being carried out by the rulers and political leaders in the name of religion and caste are disrupting the peace in our country. An imbalance is getting generated in the global atmosphere. Various social evils are weakening the economy. As if this is not enough, human life is frequently rocked by the crooked ways of the thoughtless, indiscriminate and selfish political leaders. Innocent people are getting crushed by the economic pressures. The burden of frequent General Elections is gripping not only the common man, but also the industrial and business community. To get relieved from this kind of situation, to enable us to break the vicious shackles, created by the fickle minded politicians, to ensure stability at the top, henceforth a legitimate governance leading to a rich growth of crops and diary products, and a cool heart ot our mother earth, and thereafter to bless the humanity with power to make progress on a powerful path and as a result of this to establish harmonious atmosphere between the various sects, religions, castes, we have to offer prayers to our Lord.
It is decided that the best time for such a prayer is 5.30 P.M to 8.30 PM on the 24th of June 1999. On that day near Gyumkhana Grounds at Secunderabad, the well wishers of the society and those wishing for a happy life will sit in a large gathering surrounded by Yanthra Akara, without any restrictions the Lord who is in the form of Nature, for the country's peace, stable governance and mental peace in the luminiscence created by the lights lit before him.
Birth star of Sri Vishnuchittar and Lord Narasimha Swamy is on that auspicious day. It is aspired that everybody's heart will blossom like a lotus and country's progress in the coming century will be a real good one. It is felt that the lights should give rise to the rays of knowledge which will eliminate the darkness like weakness in the hearts of people and make righteous persons as rulers.
In this Mahayagna for the welfare of the country, we are inviting you to take part in an activity which will take just three hours of time. We wish that you, along with your relatives, friends and family will utilise this occasion on the evening of the 24th June, the auspicious EkAdasi day.
In a white paper booklet, write the above sloka 108 times in any language you like, bring the same to the venue of prayer on 24th-6-99 and hand it over to the organisers. The book so written will be sent to Badrinath temple and will be preserved whoch is at the foothill of Himalayas. Let us all share the joy in praying for the stability and prosperity of our country. All the books of the prayer will be kept at the foot of a stupa the pillar specially constructed for the purpose. Let us all come together in praying for our country, enjoy the Divine Bliss.
Do come, share the happiness and be useful to the welfare of the country and society.
Jai Srimannarayana !
