Ma:rgasira month Sukla Eka:dasi (11th day of the waxing moon) is the day on which Bhagavadgeetha was unveiled to the world by Sanjaya, the minister of King Dhruthara:shtra during Maha:bha:ratha period of our History. This day is thus celebrated as the Geetha Jayanthi day by the Vedic believers all over the world.

The Torch "Geetha Jyothi" lit by HH Sri Chinnajeeyar Swamiji on 28-11-2008 at Rajahmundry is carried on a walk that passes through various villages on the way and reach the Venue of the main programme by December 9th.
