Jai srimannarayana all Bhagavad Bandhus!

Mangalasasanams of the eve of Tholi E:ka:dasi & Dakshina:yana Punya ka:lam & Chathur Ma:syam!

Let all our acharyas bless us all with good prosperity and thought to spread their message and put it in our own practice. Though Chatur ma:syam starts from this day onwards, Sanyasis observe this ceremony from the Pu:rnima day, because they have to perform kalyanam (shaving) on that day.

This day is called tholi e:ka:dasi because, after dakshina:yanam starts this will be the first e:ka:dasi, during sukla paksha (waxing moon days).

Lord Lakshminarayana lays down on the A:disesha for 4 months from this time. When He starts srushti, rains start falling and many creatures start their new birth and thus the roads are filled with them. Thus, it is suggested to the Yathis, to stop at one place, to avoid killing of those new borns by their movements. Lord plan the future of these souls for the better. While staying at one place, they introspect the activities they did during the whole year. They also plan for the future.

All sana:thanists observe this by controlling their food mainly. First month they give up taking any milk products and call it (payo:vratham), 2nd month give up all the leafy vegetables (sa:ka vratham), 3rd month give up all cerials and 4th month they take only those which are having two leaves. There are some rules, which are different to different sections. Anyway this is time for sadhana to all.

We offer our mangalasasanams to all for good sadhana.
