centers individually and make each center self-reliant in promoting education, health, environmental activities and many more in serving the needy in their area. The individual centers would inturn submit detailed activity report to the VT India Central Committee periodically. Local District Committees would soon be established to promote different activities.
Sri Swamiji also declared that three major International Events like Braille Day, Cancer
Awareness Day and Earth Day be celebrated by all VT centers every year. HH also declared that VT would be organizing Sri Venkateswara Sarana:gathi Deeksha from Dec 16th 2009 to Jan 16th 2010.
Speaking on this cause, HH Sri Ahobila Jeeyar Swamiji gave an inspiring message to all participating VT members and volunteers to strengthen the service activities by uniting together and working towards the realization of the glorious aims and objectives of VT.
Sriman K Mahendar Reddyji, speaking on this occassion, pledged to do his best in furthering the cause of VT and invited all volunteers and members to take this unique movement forward in a grand way to serve the society.
Sriman Panduranga Raoji, Secretary of VT India, submitted a detailed report on various VT India service activities organized in the last 2 years including Early Cancer Detection programmes conducted in the districts of Krishna, Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Warangal and in the slums of Chennai and Bengaluru. He also presented details about various Awareness Events and Braille Day Celebrations conducted by VT throughout the world. Details were also given on 162 Prajna Classes successfully conducted in remote villages, especially in the districts of Karimnagar, Visakhapatnam and Vijayanagaram for the benefit of rural children.
About 40 VT India coordinators from different VT India centers spoke on this occassion giving new ideas and opinions to perform service activities in the fields of education and health.
VT India volunteers also came up with new ideas to create Environmental Awareness among youth and society.
With the coordination of VT India volunteers and doctors, H1N1 virus awareness camps were conducted in Rajam (in Srikakulam District) and many more places in Andhra Pradesh. As part of the drive, Preventive Homeo medicine was also administered to all, including schools in the area. To mitigate the menace of terrorism and spread peace, Awareness Walkathons were also conducted with thousands of people in various parts of Andhra Pradesh including Rajam (in Srikakulam District)
Organized by VT India, competitions for interested VT volunteers would be held in Bhagavad Githa 1st Chapter on Nov 22nd 2009. Large scale Githa chanting programme would be conducted on 28th Nov 2009 on account of Githa Jayanthi in Hyderabad with atleast 1lakh participants.
Finally, HH Sri CHinna Jeeyar Swamiji gave blessings to everyone and invited one and all to join the VT movement to promote the noble cause. |
